Dragon Racers
Prologue
A dragon and its rider, an elf, are flying through a canyon and the announcer speaks through the speaker “The legendary Rameris and his dragon Nighthawk are in the lead and heading down the final stretch.”
“This is easier then I thought it would be” barked Rameris to Nighthawk, his big golden dragon. “Yes we made it thought that forest like a knife though butter, those racers and their dragons didn’t stand a chance” growled Nighthawk. “And I just love the red gleam of the sunlight when we have victory.”
“Red gleam? The sun doesn’t have a red gleam its orange” said Rameris. He looks up “That’s a dragon!” barks Rameris. The crimson red dragon dives at them. “Brace for impact” growled Nighthawk twisting upside down. The two dragons collide with a giant thud. Rameris and Nighthawk slam into the ground creating an enormous dust cloud around them. The impact of hitting the ground made Rameris slide away from Nighthawk he was winded but got up and drew his sword it was a two handed gold sword with a black handle. He could hear snarling and growling but he keep on walking. Then he stumbled across Nighthawk he was laying on his side and had an enormous gash in his side and crimson red blood was pulsing out of his wound, but he also had a smaller cut in his throat piercing Nighthawk’s golden armor staining it with blood. “No…. Nighthawk” whimpered Rameris.
Hearing footsteps behind him, Rameris flashed his sword around swinging it at the sound of the footsteps. It was the rider, a human with red armor and he blocked the swing with his red hand and a half sword using minimal effort. “Don’t think you can kill me” laughed the man in the red armor “And it’s two on one” hissed the red dragon swinging his tail hitting Rameris in the chest sending him flying into the ground. He scrambled to bet back up but then he saw a flash of red, then blackness, choking blackness.
The crowd watched as the red dragon took back off into the sky. They watched in horror as the dust started to settle down and nothing moved. Then as all dust was gone there was Rameris lying on the ground next to Nighthawk with a gash in his throat staring into nothingness, his eyes glazed with death. And then someone screamed “He’s DEAD!”
