Tried to get here yesterday and all that came up was a parent directory. Don't know what that was all about, but the links either didn't work or just came up as "TEST."

Not really too sure about things at this point. As far as this site is concerned, anyway. Like there are 540 comments on my dragonpage under Important Announcements. 99% of them are one way or another begging for this site to continue.

I really don't understand how in the world anyone with that much declared support has the cojones to say there are too many problems to continue. I've talked to some people in the business about all this and the general thinking is that the site is being killed deliberately. For reasons that only the owner/s can really know.

It's impossible to figure how anyone or any group of people can just walk away from something that has been implemented, is generating healthy (presumably) ad revenues, has a large support base of thousands of members, has the mechanics of layout and design (is already skinned, in other words), and can only come up with some of the lamest excuses or reasons I've ever heard in this business.

Over the years, I've admittedly been supportive of Admin and Staff. With, also admittedly, a journey as a critic or Devil's Advocate. I'm not sure, anymore, if that support was deserved or justified. Especially in light of some the inactions noted. Inactions by Admin and Staff, that is.

I'm not usually prone to buying into or creating conspiracy theories, but it wouldn't take very much for me to really question the actual reasons for some key members of Staff to have just left. Same way with some of the arguments that have come up in the posts involving members and Admin. They don't make any sense.

So the site is a mess, coding-wise. So what? Fix it.
So it would take time. So what? Take the time.
So it might even need a professional coder. So what? Find one.
So IRL problems are taking precedence over tending to the site. So what? Turn it over to someone who would have an interest.

ETC.

In other words, it's like a businessman who kind of just started something, couldn't keep up with it, was too stupid or uncaring to bring in the kind of support required for continuance, and never even drafted out an exit strategy. Which is probably the most stupid thing of all. To leave literally, thousands of people who poured their hearts and time and some, their money, orphaned bespeaks not only uncaring, it also speaks of cruelty that only forumers can know or understand.

But it is cruel. And heartless. And thoughtless. And so stupid!

I've known foreign country dictators, personally, that were more benevolent than what I've witnessed here.

What I have witnessed here is a total and complete lack of compassion, understanding, and caring.

It's September 29, 2013, 7:21PM, EST, USA my time right now. I doubt many members will see this post. Doesn't really matter, anyway. In about 4 1/2 hours everything will be gone. Presuming admin closes the site down on the last day of the month, which would begin at 12 midnght. And so will all of you. From here. Many on to FR, some other places, but gone.

I hope Admin and Staff will be able to sleep comfortably tonight.

If I had disrupted so many caring lives, I doubt I'd sleep for a week. Or be haunted with nightmares for my stupidity.

My very best goes out to the members. Most of you are young enough that this will only be a little blip on your life's radar. Hope so, anyway. Anyone or anything that would treat its members the way you have been treated, really isn't worth much more than that: an insignificant blip.
