Turtlekit woke up. He blinked away the sleep that was heavy on his eyes. His mother turned to him. "Turtlekit"she said softly. But he was already up eyes wide with excitment. Today was the day he was made an apprentice!His mother purred. "Before your made an apprentice we have to do something about that fur!" She said as she walked over and started lapping at his fur. He flinched away "Robinfeather!"he mewed groaning. "I'm almost an apprentice!"he complained.
"And you will never be with that fur!"she said and continued lapping making sure every hair was smoothed down. "Every cat olf enough please come to the Icerock for a Clan meeting!"the familar yowl came for Turtlekit's ceremony. He burst out of his den and sat where Graystar stood on the surface of ice used for Clan meetings.
